Airport parking schemes: what actually counts in 2026

An airport parking scheme exists, but it is almost never what the name promises. In the September 2026 survey, the discount from a card or an association applies to the counter daily rate, which is already high to begin with. The result is that 15% off R$ 45.90 still loses to R$ 18.49 on an ordinary online booking at São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). This guide shows what each programme actually gives, with figures and dates, and where a scheme really does win.

Quick answer: does the scheme pay off?

The short reading: among the programmes on the list, only Azul's beats an online booking, and at one specific branch. No other airport parking scheme comes close. In the rest, the discount arrives on top of a more expensive starting price, so it reduces the bill without changing the outcome.

What is an airport parking scheme?

It is a commercial agreement between a car park and a brand with a customer base. It can be a bank, an insurer, a professional council or a loyalty programme. The lot offers a discount to anyone who proves the connection, and the brand gains a benefit to advertise. Nobody is deceiving anybody. The detail that changes everything is which price serves as the base for the discount.

A scheme almost always discounts the counter rate, the one you would pay turning up without a booking. An online booking, on the other hand, has a price of its own, built as a ladder: the more days, the less you pay per day. They are two different mechanisms, and that is why comparing them directly in percentages misleads.

Why does the scheme discount the most expensive price?

Because the counter is the car park's full reference rate. At Movepark's partners in Guarulhos, the booking engine shows both figures side by side. Aerovalet's uncovered space comes to R$ 18.49 on an online booking, against R$ 22.19 at the counter. The covered one comes to R$ 22.19, against R$ 26.63. Prices checked on 17/09/2026. The counter costs exactly 20% more, which amounts to a 16.7% saving by booking ahead.

A 15% scheme applied to the counter, therefore, gives back less than the online booking already delivers on its own. And it delivers that with no card, no professional licence and no points programme.

Which airport parking schemes exist in 2026?

Airport parking schemes split into four families, and each works a different way. Separate the four before comparing price.

  • Bank and high-income card: Itaú Personnalité, Itaú Uniclass, Bradesco Prime, C6, AMEX. They usually appear as a service, not as a rate.
  • Insurer: Porto Seguro, Tokio Marine, Mapfre, HDI. They discount on identification of the insured vehicle's plate.
  • Council and association: OAB, Cremesp, CREA, CRECI. These are regional agreements, settled by state branch.
  • Loyalty programme and airline: Azul, Esfera, Livelo, Latam Pass. Here you get both discount and points accrual, which are not the same thing.

What does Itaú Personnalité still give at Guarulhos Airport?

The benefit of four free days a year at partner car parks was discontinued, and eligible customers could use it until 31 October 2025. The date comes from the bank's closure notice, reported by the specialist card press, since Itaú's benefits page refuses automated reading. Anyone searching today for that airport parking scheme finds old articles that still describe the benefit as active.

What remains standing is the Itaú Personnalité Valet. According to the GRU Airport official site, consulted on 17/09/2026, the service sits at Terminal 3 departures and runs from 6am to 11pm. Collection happens on the Brasília floor, at the valet desk. The page is explicit about the point that matters here: the service includes the valet, and the parking charge is billed separately. In other words, it is the convenience of handing over the car, not a reduced rate.

Does the Porto Seguro discount apply at an airport car park?

It does, with three conditions that change the result. According to the partnership page on Estapar's website, consulted on 17/09/2026, Porto Auto policyholders receive a 15% discount. With the Porto tag, on hourly parking, the discount reaches 30%. The discount comes out automatically with the tag or is requested at the desk, giving the policyholder's plate and tax number.

There are three conditions. The benefit applies only at Estapar branches. It specifically requires Porto Auto, since other products from the same company do not qualify. And it does not stack with other promotions, except the Porto tag itself. That matters at an airport because the operator changes from location to location. At Guarulhos, the airport's official page names Indigo as responsible for the car park. At Viracopos, the official lot's management is with Estapar. The same card, therefore, meets different realities at two airports.

Is there an OAB airport parking scheme?

There is, but it is not a single national scheme. The state branches negotiate local agreements, and the one granting the discount is the private lot, not the airport. At Guarulhos, car parks in the area advertise a condition for lawyers on presentation of the bar association card at the till. The percentage and the promotional code vary by agreement and by period.

The practical consequence is annoying, and it is worth saying plainly: you cannot arrive at the airport trusting a figure you read on a blog. The OAB discount has to be confirmed with the specific car park, on the date of the trip.

What does Azul give at Viracopos and at Confins?

This is the most concrete scheme in the set. Garageinn itself publishes the partnership condition. Azul customers pay R$ 30.00 on the first day and R$ 40.00 thereafter. Access comes through the Voe Azul portal, via Experiência Azul and then Azul Estacionamento. The branch sits inside the Viracopos complex, around 500 metres from the terminal. Query made on 17/09/2026.

Azul also maintains parking partnerships at other locations, Confins included, publicised on the same portal. Because the airline's page refuses automated reading, only what the car park itself publishes is recorded here, which is verifiable. If you are an airline customer, the portal is the right place to check the current condition. On the Viracopos front, the post on parking at Viracopos for Azul, in Portuguese, separates what exists from brand confusion.

premium card VIP lounge overlooking the runway, a benefit that does not cover airport parking

Do a Black card and a Visa Infinite give airport parking?

They do not. No premium card works as an airport parking scheme, and that is the answer missing from the Brazilian internet.

Mastercard Black, Visa Infinite and Nubank Ultravioleta offer a VIP lounge, not a space. Mastercard Black gives access to the Mastercard Lounge, at Terminal 3 in Guarulhos. Visa Infinite gives annual accesses to the Dragon Pass network. With Nubank Ultravioleta, it is accesses to Priority Pass lounges and to its own lounge at Guarulhos. Livelo and Latam Pass are points programmes: you accrue and redeem, and neither publishes an airport parking rate. Survey of 17/09/2026 on the issuers' pages.

The confusion has a reasonable root. The passenger associates a premium card with an airport benefit, and an airport benefit does indeed exist, only in the departure lounge. Anyone looking for a discount on the space is looking in the wrong place, and will go on not finding it.

Why does the list of 40 schemes not show the discount?

The most useful finding in this survey comes from one of the largest private lots at Guarulhos: its partnerships page displays more than 40 schemes. Among them are Itaú Personnalité, Itaú Uniclass, C6 Bank, Bradesco Prime, AMEX, Next, Inter and Elo. Add insurers such as Tokio Marine, Mapfre and HDI. Then come OAB, Cremesp, CREA-SP and CRECI-SP. Programmes such as Azul Fidelidade, Esfera, Vivo Valoriza and Claro Clube close the list. Each entry repeats that the customer has an exclusive advantage.

Not one of them states the percentage on the overview page. Query of 17/09/2026.

None of that is irregular. A list of logos conveys credibility, and the figure appears only later, when you are already deciding. But it helps to understand the practical effect. You compare car parks on price, find a list with your own bank in it and conclude that it comes out cheaper there, without ever having seen a figure.

In Brazil, an advertised offer binds whoever advertises it. Article 30 of the Consumer Protection Code (federal legislation) is clear. Any sufficiently precise information binds the supplier and forms part of the contract. A scheme with no published figure does not amount to a precise promise, and that is precisely why it binds nobody to anything.

How much is an airport parking scheme worth, in reais?

Enough of loose percentages: an airport parking scheme has to be measured in reais. The table below starts from a counter daily rate of R$ 45.90, a typical figure for a private lot at Guarulhos. We then apply the most common scheme percentages to it. The last line is the online booking with no scheme at all, in Movepark's booking engine.

RouteDaily7 days30 days

Online booking, uncovered spaceR$ 18.49R$ 93.17R$ 239.40
Online booking, covered spaceR$ 22.19R$ 111.79R$ 287.40

Movepark prices checked in the booking engine on 17/09/2026, at Aerovalet in Guarulhos, in Portuguese. The counter lines are a simulation on the full reference rate.

The 30% scheme, which is the ceiling of what the market shows, still comes out R$ 13.64 more expensive a day than the uncovered space booked online. Across 30 days, the difference reaches R$ 724.50.

At what length of stay does an airport parking scheme lose?

At practically every one. An airport parking scheme loses from the very first day, and the gap widens with time. The reason is structural. A scheme is a fixed percentage off a daily rate that does not change. An online booking works on a descending ladder, in which the figure per day falls as the stay grows.

Days15% scheme on the counterOnline booking, uncoveredDifference per day
1R$ 39.02R$ 18.49R$ 20.53

Middle-column figures calculated on a R$ 45.90 counter rate; right-hand column with Movepark prices from 17/09/2026.

On the first day the difference is already large. Over 30 days, a scheme day costs almost five times an online booking day. Anyone who travels a lot, which is exactly the premium card audience, is the one who loses most by trusting a scheme.

Is there a case where the scheme wins?

There is, and ignoring it would be dishonest. At Viracopos, Azul's condition at Garageinn comes to R$ 30.00 on the first day and R$ 40.00 thereafter, which closes at R$ 270.00 over seven days. Through the booking engine, that same Garageinn closes the week at R$ 321.30, or R$ 45.90 a day. The scheme beats the online booking by R$ 51.30, at the same branch.

The caveat is that this is not the right comparison. At the same location, Virapark, in Portuguese, closes at R$ 24.90 a day from seven days on in a covered space, which comes to R$ 174.30 over the week. The scheme beats its own branch's price and still loses to the lot next door. Prices from 17/09/2026.

How much would a scheme need to discount to break even?

This is the sum nobody publishes, and it is the most useful one for assessing an airport parking scheme. To break even with the R$ 18.49 daily rate of an online booking at Guarulhos, the discount would have to be this:

Starting counter daily rateDiscount needed to break even
R$ 22.0016%
R$ 30.0038.4%
R$ 45.9059.7%
R$ 75.0075.3%
R$ 100.0081.5%

R$ 18.49 reference from the Movepark booking engine, 17/09/2026. The starting daily rates cover the band surveyed in August 2026 at the official Guarulhos lot. It ran from R$ 22.00 in the Economy sector to R$ 100.00 in the sectors beside the terminal.

No scheme in the Brazilian airport parking market reaches 59.7%, let alone 81.5%. Keep this figure in mind: if the advertised discount does not exceed 30%, it does not break even with an online booking starting from any counter rate above R$ 27.00.

Is an airport parking scheme worth more on a short stay?

On a short stay, always. The discount is a percentage off a constant daily rate, so an airport parking scheme does not benefit from time. The online price does. On a few-hour round trip the scheme does come to make sense, because an online booking is usually sold by the whole day.

The practical cut-off sits at the first day. From there on, each extra day widens the advantage of whoever booked ahead. Anyone leaving the car for two weeks is in the worst possible scenario for using a scheme.

How much does parking for a few hours cost?

On hourly charging, an airport parking scheme has its best moment. Hourly charging is the natural ground of short-stay parking, which is where insurer agreements yield most. Porto's benefit with the Porto tag reaches 30% precisely in the hourly mode, according to Estapar, in a query of 17/09/2026.

The official rate helps put it in scale. In the August 2026 survey, the official Guarulhos lot ran from R$ 22.00 a day in the Economy sector up to R$ 100.00 in the sectors right beside the terminal. On a two or three-hour stop, the sector beside the terminal usually comes out ahead. With an insurer discount, it beats any lot outside the airport. The transfer eats precisely the time you are trying to save.

What changes in the price in high season?

July, December and January squeeze supply. The counter is the first thing to rise, because it is the price a car park adjusts without notice. Being a percentage, the scheme follows that rise: 15% off a bigger daily rate is still 15%, and the final bill grows with it.

The online booking price, on the other hand, appears published before you decide. So high season widens the gap between the two routes, rather than narrowing it. If you can only travel at peak times, booking ahead is worth more than any membership card.

Which to choose for each type of trip?

Four profiles cover almost everyone, and the weight of an airport parking scheme changes a good deal between them.

  • A few-hour round trip: the official sector beside the terminal, with an insurer discount if you have one. The transfer time costs more than the rate difference.
  • A weekend, 2 to 3 days: an online booking at a partner lot. In the band surveyed on 17/09/2026, the uncovered space at Guarulhos comes to R$ 16.90 a day over two days.
  • A holiday week, 7 days: an online booking, without question. That is R$ 93.17 uncovered against R$ 273.11 for a 15% scheme.
  • A fortnight or a month: an online booking and a covered space. Over 30 days the covered one comes to R$ 9.58 a day, and the car spends weeks shielded from sun and rain.

How does an airport parking scheme change at each location?

The yardstick for an airport parking scheme changes from location to location, because the official rate and the supply of lots change. This table brings together the August and September 2026 survey at the four airports with the most searches for schemes.

Official lots surveyed in August 2026; partners checked between 11 and 17/09/2026 in the booking engine. For the detail of each location, see the guide to how to park cheaply at Guarulhos Airport. The comparison of the cheapest car park at Confins Airport covers the Minas location. Both in Portuguese.

Curitiba is the table's curious case. The official lot furthest out has the lowest daily rate of the four locations, but it requires a minimum of five days. The saving, therefore, only appears on a long trip.

Does the official airport have a scheme of its own?

At most locations, there is no airport parking scheme offered by the terminal itself. GRU Airport's official parking page, consulted on 17/09/2026, lists no scheme at all. What it lists are accepted payment methods: cash, Sem Parar, ConectCar, Veloe, Taggy, credit and debit card, plus payment by QR code on the ticket itself.

Do not confuse the two. Accepting a toll tag is a payment convenience, and the price stays the same. Anyone going through with a tag pays the same rate as anyone paying by card. The exception is where there is an insurer agreement behind it, as with the Porto tag across the Estapar network.

Do vouchers and promotional codes work at an airport car park?

They work when the car park itself issues the voucher, with a defined validity and rule. What does not work is a generic code found on a voucher site, which is usually expired or never existed for that branch.

Movepark does not keep a public scheme programme by card, bank or association. The discount is already in the online booking price. So it appears compared with the counter rate at the moment of choice, rather than depending on you remembering a code when you pay. It is a choice of transparency: the published price is the price charged.

What should you ask before trusting an airport parking scheme?

Four questions settle almost every doubt about an airport parking scheme. All of them can be asked by phone or messaging app before the trip.

  • What is the exact percentage and which rate does it apply to? If the answer is "to the table", ask for the table figure in reais.
  • Does the discount apply to the daily rate or only to hourly parking? Many insurer agreements cover hourly charging only.
  • Does it stack with a promotion or an advance booking? It almost never does, and that is the most common catch.
  • What do I need to present, and at what moment? A card, a plate, a physical card or a tax number vary with the agreement, and presenting it in the wrong place invalidates it.

If the car park does not answer with a figure, treat the scheme as non-existent for comparison purposes. You can always check the online booking price first, since it is published.

How we surveyed these prices

The partners' figures come from Movepark's booking engine, stamped 17 September 2026. It is the same price shown on each branch's page. They are neither an estimate nor a market average.

Each scheme's terms were checked at the primary source, on 17 September 2026. There were four sources. The GRU Airport official site accounted for the valet and the payment methods. The partnership page on Estapar's website carried the Porto Seguro benefit. Garageinn's page carried Azul's condition at Viracopos. The issuers' pages covered the premium cards. The official airports' rates come from Movepark's own August 2026 survey.

Where the primary source refused reading, as with the airline's portal and the bank's benefits page, the post says where the data came from rather than presenting it as official. Parking prices change without notice, and schemes change even more: check at the source before travelling.

Frequently asked questions

Does an airport parking scheme really pay off?

In most cases, it does not pay off against an online booking. The discount applies to the counter daily rate, which is the most expensive one. So 15% off R$ 45.90 results in R$ 39.02, against R$ 18.49 for an online booking at Guarulhos on 17/09/2026. On a stay of a few hours, though, an insurer scheme on hourly parking can be worth it.

Does Itaú Personnalité still give free parking at Guarulhos?

No. The benefit of four free days a year was discontinued and applied until 31 October 2025. The Itaú Personnalité Valet remains active, at Terminal 3 departures, from 6am to 11pm. The valet is included in it, and the parking daily rate is charged separately. Source: the airport's official site, on 17/09/2026.

Does a Mastercard Black card give a discount on airport parking?

It gives no discount on a space. Premium cards' airport benefit is a VIP lounge. With Mastercard Black, access is to the Terminal 3 lounge at Guarulhos. Visa Infinite gives accesses to the Dragon Pass network, and Nubank Ultravioleta to Priority Pass lounges. None publishes a reduced parking rate, in a survey of 17/09/2026.

How does the Porto Seguro parking discount work?

Porto Auto policyholders get a 15% discount across the Estapar network, reaching 30% on hourly parking with the Porto tag, according to Estapar on 17/09/2026. The discount comes out automatically with the tag or is requested at the desk, giving the insured vehicle's plate and the tax number. It applies only at Estapar branches and does not stack with other promotions.

Which airport parking scheme gives the biggest discount?

Among those verified, Azul's condition at Garageinn in Viracopos is the one that reduces the bill most. That is R$ 30.00 on the first day and R$ 40.00 thereafter. It comes to R$ 270.00 over seven days, against R$ 321.30 for an ordinary booking at the same branch. Even so, a neighbouring lot closes the same week at R$ 174.30.

Can you combine a scheme with an advance booking?

Almost never. The standard rule in these agreements is non-cumulation, and Estapar says so explicitly in the Porto Seguro benefit, with the Porto tag as the only exception. In practice, you choose one route or the other, which is why it is worth comparing the two final figures in reais before deciding, not the percentages.

Compare the partner branches' price at Guarulhos, in Portuguese, before counting on any scheme. The figure shown there is what the car park charges, with no membership card and no code.
