Motorcycle parking at Confins Airport: the Pátio Motos guide

BH Airport's Pátio Motos charges R$ 10.00 for 30 minutes and R$ 30.00 a day, in a covered, exclusive lot near P1. Confins is the only large airport in Brazil that publishes a motorcycle rate, and no private lot in the area publishes its own.

Motorcycle parking at Confins Airport: the Pátio Motos guide

Motorcycle parking at Confins Airport exists, it is covered and the daily rate is R$ 30.00. It is called Pátio Motos, carries the code M, sits near P1 and arrivals, and takes motorcycles only. The short-stay rate is R$ 10.00 for 30 minutes. The figures come from BH Airport's official table, consulted on 24 September 2026. It is the lowest rate in the entire complex, and also the least publicised.

Is there motorcycle parking at Confins Airport?

There is, and that is the part that surprises anyone arriving from a search. BH Airport keeps a lot exclusively for motorcycles, marked with the letter M on the signage and called Pátio Motos in the price table. The concessionaire describes it as a covered lot exclusively for motorcycle parking, located near P1 and arrivals.

Pátio Motos is also rare. Confins is the only one among Brazil's large airports that publishes a rate line for motorcycles alone in its own table. At Guarulhos and at Viracopos the official table carries no motorcycle line. At Curitiba the operator publishes no table at all.

How much does motorcycle parking at Confins Airport cost?

The daily rate comes to R$ 30.00 and the 30-minute block to R$ 10.00. There is no published hourly rate for the motorcycle lot, nor a weekly package. Anyone going past the half hour falls into the daily-rate logic.

This is BH Airport's full table, with every lot, so you can see the motorcycle in the context of the rest of the airport. The figures were consulted on the official website on 24 September 2026.

Premium 2P2not publishedR$ 40.00R$ 95.00uncovered
Premium PlusP+not publishedR$ 45.00R$ 105.00covered

Note an asymmetry in the table itself. Some lots publish a 30-minute block and others publish a full hour, so comparing the wrong columns distorts the sum. The motorcycle and E3 appear in the 30-minute column; P1, P2 and P+ appear in the hourly one.

Why is Pátio Motos the only one with a published rate?

The short answer is that a motorcycle costs little in space and a lot in risk. One car space holds several motorcycles, so the square metre yields more. In exchange, a motorcycle is easier to steal, to tip over and to soak, which is why it calls for an enclosed, watched area.

The space arithmetic explains the airport's choice. Because the lot is small, covered and exclusive, the concessionaire can charge a low rate without undercutting the car lots, which carry the revenue. In other words, motorcycle parking at Confins Airport is cheap by arithmetic, not by courtesy. And it also explains why the lots in the surrounding area do not follow the same path.

How does the motorcycle daily rate compare with the car's at CNF?

The motorcycle costs exactly half the cheapest car option inside the airport. That is R$ 30.00 against R$ 60.00 for Econômico 3, in figures from 24 September 2026. Against Premium Plus, the most expensive lot, the gap reaches R$ 75.00 a day.

ComparisonMotorcycle (M)Cheapest car (E3)Difference
30 minutesR$ 10.00R$ 18.00R$ 8.00
1 dayR$ 30.00R$ 60.00R$ 30.00
3 daysR$ 90.00R$ 180.00R$ 90.00
7 daysR$ 210.00R$ 420.00R$ 210.00

So far the motorcycle wins on every line. But that table uses the car's full rate, and the airport runs an advance-booking condition that changes the result. That is what the next section shows.

From how many days does the motorcycle stop paying off?

From the seventh day, and the reason is a detail almost nobody cross-checks. BH Airport advertises a 7-day package at Econômico from R$ 189.00, valid for bookings made 72 hours in advance. Pátio Motos is not part of that promotion and stays on the full rate.

Do the sum with the figures from 24 September 2026. Seven motorcycle days add up to R$ 210.00. Seven car days on Econômico's advance package come to R$ 189.00. In other words, on a week-long trip, leaving the car booked in advance costs R$ 21.00 less than leaving the motorcycle.

The turning point sits between the sixth and the seventh day. At six days the motorcycle still wins, with R$ 180.00 against R$ 189.00. On the seventh it loses. So if the trip runs past a week and you have both options in the garage, it is worth running the sum before choosing the motorcycle on instinct.

How much does it cost to leave the motorcycle for a few hours at Confins?

For anyone just picking someone up, the motorcycle is the cheapest option in the whole airport. That is R$ 10.00 for 30 minutes, against R$ 18.00 for Econômico 3 and R$ 23.00 for Premium 3 over the same block.

One expectation warning belongs here. The official table publishes no grace period, neither for motorcycles nor for cars. So any promise of ten or fifteen free minutes you come across does not come from the airport's official channel, and you cannot count on it when planning.

If the wait is going to run past half an hour, compare it with motorcycle parking at Confins Airport on the daily rate. Because the daily rate costs R$ 30.00, three 30-minute blocks already match a whole day.

Where is Confins Airport's Pátio Motos?

Pátio Motos sits near P1 and arrivals, according to BH Airport's own description. In practice, the rider parks the motorcycle and walks into the terminal. No van, no transfer and no waiting for anyone.

Walking access is the biggest advantage of motorcycle parking at Confins Airport, and it does not show up in the price table. Anyone driving to an outside lot faces the transfer logistics, which in this area take 3 to 10 minutes, plus the time spent waiting for the van. Anyone on a motorcycle skips that step entirely.

The airport address is Rodovia LMG-800, Km 7.9, in Confins, Minas Gerais, postcode 33500-900. The internal signage uses the letter M, not the word moto, so look for the letter as you approach the lots.

How do you reach the Confins Airport car park by motorcycle?

Access is the same as for cars, via the LMG-800, and the most common route leaves Belo Horizonte on the MG-010, the Linha Verde. That is around 38 kilometres from the city centre, on a run that takes from 40 minutes to an hour depending on traffic.

On a motorcycle that stretch calls for three precautions a car does not:

  • Wind on the Linha Verde. The route has open, elevated stretches where a side gust catches the motorcycle broadside. Slow down on the flyovers, particularly with luggage on the back.
  • Late-afternoon rain. In Minas the summer downpour arrives fast, and the wet surface on the airport approach tends to have slippery road markings.
  • Luggage strapped down before you leave. Tie the rack at home, calmly, and not on the hard shoulder with your hands aching from the cold.

Once inside the complex, follow the car park signage and look for lot M. If you are unsure on site, the staffed till is at the terminal entrance.

Is motorcycle parking at Confins Airport covered?

It is covered, and the concessionaire states so in the lot's description. For a motorcycle, cover works in favour of preservation. Strong sun dries out plastic, rubber and the seat, and standing rain pools in trim and in the wiring harness.

In Minas, cover also solves a specific seasonal risk. Greater Belo Horizonte records hail with some frequency in late spring and in summer, and an uncovered motorcycle has no bodywork to absorb a stone. The dash, the headlight, the mirror and the fairing are all exposed.

Compare that with what the surroundings offer. Among the airport's lots, full cover appears only at P3, at Premium Plus and at Pátio Motos. P1 has covered and uncovered bays, and Econômico 3 and P2 are uncovered. So the motorcycle sits in the same protection category as the premium lots, while paying the lowest rate in the table.

Do the private lots at Confins take motorcycles?

None of them publishes a motorcycle rate, and that was checked site by site. On 24 September 2026 I opened the pages of the six largest private car parks in the area, and not one of them mentions a motorcycle.

The sites checked were Park Confins, AeroPark Confins, Central Park Confins, Multipark, Auto Park Brasil and Space Park. All publish a car rate, facilities, transfer and online booking. None publishes a motorcycle line.

The absence of a published rate does not mean they turn a motorcycle away at the gate. It means the price is not published and has to be negotiated by phone. So the rider loses the chance to compare before leaving home. While motorcycle parking at Confins Airport shows R$ 30.00 in the table, the outside lot is a quote yet to be discovered.

What should you ask a lot that publishes no motorcycle rate?

If you want to test the quote by phone, ask the right questions on the first call. These five settle almost the whole negotiation:

  • Do you take motorcycles and what is the daily rate? Ask for a closed figure, not a "from".
  • Is the motorcycle bay covered or out in the open yard? Plenty of lots tuck the motorcycle against the side of the plot, with no cover.
  • Is the motorcycle chained or just resting on its stand? It makes a difference on a long stay.
  • Does the lot's insurance cover motorcycles? At several lots the policy covers cars only.
  • Is there an extra charge for keeping the helmet at reception? Some charge, others do not keep it at all.

Note the answer down with the name of whoever took the call and the date. A counter quote is recorded nowhere, and on the way back the conversation tends to be a different one.

How do you pay for motorcycle parking at Confins Airport?

The airport takes credit and debit, and does not take cheques or American Express. Payment can be made at the staffed till at the terminal entrance or at the self-service kiosks, which sit in the concourse and in the lots themselves.

There is also the automatic route, and it is the most practical one on a motorcycle. According to the concessionaire, the lots have automatic barrier opening and payment through Sem Parar, Conectcar, Veloe and Taggy. With the tag fitted to the motorcycle, the barrier opens without stopping and without taking a glove off.

Among the large airports I checked, Confins is the only one that declares the tag as an access credential, and not merely as a way to pay. For anyone on a motorcycle, in the rain and wearing gloves, that difference is worth more than it sounds.

What do you do with the helmet and the luggage?

The helmet question is the one that comes up most and the one with the least official answer. The airport publishes no left-luggage service for helmets at Pátio Motos, so plan to take the helmet with you or lock it in the top box.

Anyone intending to board with the helmet needs to look at the hand-baggage rule. According to ANAC, the passenger is entitled to carry up to 10 kilos of hand baggage at no extra cost, but each airline sets its own limits for height, width and length. The agency also advises that bulky items may need to be checked in. Check ANAC's hand-baggage rules before counting on the helmet in the cabin, because weight is rarely the problem and bulk almost always is.

In practice, three ways out work for anyone leaving the motorcycle at Confins:

  • A top box with a lock. It is the cleanest solution, and it holds helmet, gloves and jacket in one go.
  • The helmet as a personal item. It works on many flights, but it depends on the airline's bulk limit, so confirm beforehand.
  • Checking it in with the suitcase. Pack the helmet among the clothes, because a scratched shell loses value and a cracked shell loses its function.

What changes when the motorcycle sits for more than a week?

A parked motorcycle ages differently from a parked car, and the rider travelling for two weeks needs to know that before boarding. Three points tend to show up only on the way back.

The battery is the first. A motorcycle has a smaller battery than a car's, and the alarm, tracker and injection keep draining charge. After ten to fifteen days parked, an already tired battery may not turn the engine over. The airport says it offers emergency battery charging as a driver support service, which helps, but does not replace leaving home with a good battery.

The tyre is the second. A tyre parked on the same spot for many days develops a flat patch that judders over the first kilometres. Inflating a little above normal before travelling reduces the effect, and inflating a flat tyre is also on the airport's support service list.

The chain is the third, and the most forgotten. A lubricated chain left standing in a damp environment gathers oxidation on the links. After two weeks, apply lubricant before taking to the road, not after.

What does BH Airport state about the lots' security?

The concessionaire states that every lot has staffing and a security patrol 24 hours a day, and motorcycle parking at Confins Airport is part of that. It also lists some driver support services, such as emergency battery charging, inflating a flat tyre and covering windows left open on a rainy day.

It is worth separating what is a service from what is a liability. Patrols and support reduce risk, but they are not equivalent to vehicle insurance. The conditions apply according to the concessionaire's terms. So if your motorcycle is new or high in value, read the rules before travelling and check what your policy covers in a third-party lot.

For the full comparison between the official lot and an outside one, including what the law says when the vehicle disappears, see whether it is safe to leave the car at Confins Airport, in Portuguese. The legal logic applies the same way to a motorcycle.

Which option should you choose for each type of trip?

The decision changes with the time away, and there is no single answer. These four profiles cover almost everyone looking for motorcycle parking at Confins Airport:

  • A few hours there and back. Use the R$ 10.00 block for 30 minutes, which pays off up to an hour and a half. Past that, the R$ 30.00 daily rate works out better.
  • A weekend, 2 to 3 days. The motorcycle still wins, with R$ 60.00 to R$ 90.00 against R$ 120.00 to R$ 180.00 for a car at Econômico.
  • A week, 7 days. Here the car booked in advance becomes the cheaper option, with R$ 189.00 against R$ 210.00 for the motorcycle.
  • A fortnight or more. Add the wear on battery, tyre and chain to the price. Plenty of people prefer to leave the motorcycle at home and go by car or by app in that scenario.

Does the price of motorcycle parking at Confins Airport change in high season?

The published table is the same all year, and BH Airport publishes no seasonal rate for Pátio Motos. So in January or in May, motorcycle parking at Confins Airport stays at R$ 30.00 a day, as per the query of 24 September 2026.

What changes in high season is the competition for space. The motorcycle lot is small by definition, and in the holiday period the airport runs fuller. Because the concessionaire publishes neither the capacity nor an occupancy dashboard for lot M, there is no way to know in advance how many bays are left.

So treat high season as an availability risk. The price stays the same, and it is the space that may run out. Arrive with slack, and have a plan B in mind in case the lot is full when you pull up at the barrier.

How does Confins compare with other airports for anyone who rides?

Confins comes out ahead, and by a wide margin. I checked the official sources of four of the country's largest airports and this is the result:

  • Confins (CNF). Publishes Pátio Motos in the official table, at R$ 10.00 for 30 minutes and R$ 30.00 a day, in a covered, exclusive lot.
  • Guarulhos (GRU). The official rate table carries no motorcycle line.
  • Viracopos (VCP). The official table carries no motorcycle line either.
  • Curitiba (CWB). The operator publishes neither a rate table nor a payment method on the official site.

In other words, anyone looking for motorcycle parking at Confins Airport has a piece of information that riders in São Paulo and in Curitiba do not: how much they will pay, before leaving home. To understand how the car lots work in that same table, the guide to parking inside Confins Airport, in Portuguese, is worth a read.

Checklist before leaving the motorcycle at Confins Airport

Five minutes at home save an hour of headache on the way back. Before setting out for motorcycle parking at Confins Airport, run through these items:

  • A well-charged battery, particularly if the trip runs past ten days.
  • Tyres inflated, a little above normal for a long stay.
  • Chain lubricated, and check it again on the way back before taking to the road.
  • Documents and a spare helmet sorted, because there is no published left-luggage at the lot.
  • A tag on the helmet or on the motorcycle, if you use Sem Parar, Conectcar, Veloe or Taggy.
  • A photo of the motorcycle in its bay, with the letter M from the signage showing in the background.
  • Top box locked and alarm armed, with the spare key nowhere near the checked suitcase.
